About Me
Aleesha Burke, BS, IBCLC
I absolutely love being a lactation consultant. I experienced breastfeeding problems from day one with my first and realized how little support there was. That is how I became passionate about learning and providing skilled lactation care.
I have been providing lactation care for about five years and in the field for 10. I completed my IBCLC training in 2017 and my undergrad in Public Health in 2012. I have experience helping with nearly every lactation issue and extra training in restricted oral tissues, bottle feeding, postpartum mental health, attachment and bonding, and many other areas.
I believe in providing compassionate and empowering care to the families I help. It's my hope to give you the tools and information you need to feed your baby. I also do my best to give non-judgmental, inclusive, and equitable care. It is a great honor to meet with you and assist you during this time. Please don't hesitate to reach out!

I can bill for most Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Plans
Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies are required to provide lactation care as preventative medicine. I will provide a super bill and here is a link to directions for how to submit out of network claims or issues in billing.

I had a premie and he had difficulty breastfeeding and gaining weight. She listened to what we needed and as a result came up with a plan that worked for us. She was easy to talk to even when I was functioning on very little sleep and completely overwhelmed.

After we came home from the hospital, it was quickly evident that we had lactation issues. I was desperate for compassionate hands on help. Aleesha was available to come right away to address our needs and concerns.
Our weekly then bi-weekly appointments were beyond helpful! She came up with a plan to get myself and my little one back on track. I was able to learn techniques and strategies to increase my milk supply and our latching issues. I was terrified my breastfeeding journey was over before it began but Aleesha and her work got us where we are today.

I met with Aleesha for a prenatal consultation and then for a 1-week post-partum visit. It was so convenient and helpful to have her come to my house and observe a feeding with my setup. She identified problems with how I was holding my baby and taught me new techniques and positioning that have really improved our feedings. She had a scale to weigh my baby before and after, to confirm that he was actually getting what he needed. Aleesha also sent us follow up information for some recovery and recommended resources for the future as my little one grows. I had been struggling with breastfeeding during my first week at home, but Aleesha really helped us turn a corner!

Aleesha is knowledgeable about latching. She helped me through patching during mastitis and when the baby was very little. The baby learned quickly and was able to latch effectively. We now enjoy nursing and it gives me pure joy nursing my bundle thanks to Aleesha. Will definitely recommend her to anyone and everyone post birth.
