Compassionate care to meet your feeding goals

The early days postpartum can be magical and very challenging. Sometimes all you need is an ear to listen and some encouraging words. Other times its a complex puzzle to put together what is happening. You don't have to do it alone. I am here to help. Schedule a home visit with me today.

Aleesha Burke, BS, IBCLC

Becoming a lactation consultant became my dream and passion after the birth of my first child. I experienced breastfeeding problems from day one and ultimately did not meet my initial breastfeeding goals. I finished my public health degree in 2012 just before the birth of my second child. I completed a 500 hour internship for the Utah Breastfeeding Coalition. I have since had two more children with their own sets of breastfeeding challenges but thanks to my knowledge, experience, and most especially my support teams, I was able to meet my goals.

I completed Drexel's Lactation Pathway II Program in 2017 and passed the IBCLE Exam in January of 2018. I have worked in all different settings since then and love every second! International Board Certified Lactation Consultants are the recognized experts in supporting parents with infant feeding. I completed 90 hours of breastfeeding education, 14 health science credits, 500 hours of clinical lactation in a hospital, community, and outpatient pediatric setting, and I continue maintain continuing education as part of my certification.

I believe in providing compassionate and empowering care to the families I help. It is a great honor to meet with you in your home and assist you during this time. I will take the time to sit and collaborate with you on goals that work for the family and provide support and resources along the way. I look forward to working with you!

I can bill for most Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Plans

Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies are required to provide lactation care as preventative medicine. I will provide a super bill and here is a link to directions for how to submit out of network claims or issues in billing.

Aleesha is amazing! She is supportive, knowledgeable, and not judgmental. She clearly cares about others!

I had a premie and he had difficulty breastfeeding and gaining weight. She listened to what we needed and as a result came up with a plan that worked for us. She was easy to talk to even when I was functioning on very little sleep and completely overwhelmed.

Thanks to her I’ve continued breastfeeding/pumping and my little guy is thriving!

After we came home from the hospital, it was quickly evident that we had lactation issues. I was desperate for compassionate hands on help. Aleesha was available to come right away to address our needs and concerns.

Our weekly then bi-weekly appointments were beyond helpful! She came up with a plan to get myself and my little one back on track. I was able to learn techniques and strategies to increase my milk supply and our latching issues. I was terrified my breastfeeding journey was over before it began but Aleesha and her work got us where we are today.

I met with Aleesha for a prenatal consultation and then for a 1-week post-partum visit. It was so convenient and helpful to have her come to my house and observe a feeding with my setup. She identified problems with how I was holding my baby and taught me new techniques and positioning that have really improved our feedings. She had a scale to weigh my baby before and after, to confirm that he was actually getting what he needed. Aleesha also sent us follow up information for some recovery and recommended resources for the future as my little one grows. I had been struggling with breastfeeding during my first week at home, but Aleesha really helped us turn a corner!

Aleesha is knowledgeable about latching. She helped me through patching during mastitis and when the baby was very little. The baby learned quickly and was able to latch effectively. We now enjoy nursing and it gives me pure joy nursing my bundle thanks to Aleesha. Will definitely recommend her to anyone and everyone post birth.

Aleesha was amazing to work with. She was so responsive, knowledgeable and supportive and she made me feel extremely comfortable from the first time I spoke with her. I highly recommend working with Aleesha!

Thanks so much for all your help, Aleesha! I’m pretty sure I would have given up breastfeeding if it weren’t for your interventions.
